Why you should visit display homes in person
While it’s great to do your research online, there are some things you really need to check out in person. You can get a true sense of the design, size, flow and functionality of the home, plus you can compare the various options, inclusions and upgrades offered by each builder. Most importantly, you can see the build quality for yourself, and chat to a home consultant about your individual needs. There really is nothing like seeing a home with your own eyes!
How to make the most of your visit
If you’re thinking of visiting a few display homes, it pays to do a little planning first. Make a list of your must-have features, as well as any questions you might have. Plan your time and try to visit a few different homes to compare. Allow about 20 minutes to look through each display home, and another 10 minutes to ask the consultant any questions. Take some shots of what you like and don’t like to discuss later with your family, and jot down a few notes too. It will help jog your memory later. And most importantly, if you’re taking the kids with you, pack the essentials like drinks and snacks – so nobody gets hangry!
