Build Process
At Hallmark, we want your building experience with us to be enjoyable and stress-free, with great communication every step of the way.
Our design, sales and construction teams have years of experience behind them, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.
If you’ve never built a home before, it can seem a little daunting at first. But our 10 step build process breaks it into easy-to-understand stages, so you know exactly what’s going on at all times.
ONE
Visit a Display Home
Talk to one of our sales consultants about which house may suit your block of land, or to find out about our house and land packages.
TWO
Quote
Once you’ve decided which design best suits you, we will produce a Quote after payment of the initial deposit has been made.
THREE
Contract preparation agreement
If you’re happy with your Quote, complete the Contract Preparation Agreement with your sales consultant.
FOUR
Sign HIA contact documents
Meet with your sales consultant to review all the documents and plans and sign the necessary paperwork. Payment of a further $3,000 is now required to submit the plans for Building Approval.
FIVE
Colour, Tile and Electrical selections
We make a time for your new home’s Colour, Tile and Electrical Selection, where our experienced Colour Consultant guides you through the process. Tile and Colour selection are completed at National Tiles and Select by Hallmark, located on the Gold Coast.
SIX
Building approval
We pay all insurances and levies, then lodge the Building Application and the Plumbing and Drainage Application for approval with an Independent Private Certifier.
SEVEN
Authority to commence construction
Once your construction loan is finalised, we need notification from your financial institution. If you’re contributing some or all of the funds, we also need a copy of a current bank statement showing the funds available.
EIGHT
Start of construction
Construction will commence on or before the date specified in your Contract provided we receive all the necessary paperwork.
NINE
Construction
During construction, a Building Supervisor will be allocated to oversee all aspects of your new home build. You will be given your Supervisor’s mobile number, so you can communicate directly.
TEN
Practical completion & handover
Once complete, we’ll make a time for you to inspect your new home with the Building Supervisor. When you’re satisfied with everything, we’ll make an appointment for the handover of your new home.
